Fair Business Practices

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) enforces a variety of federal antitrust and consumer protection laws that may affect your business. The Commission promotes competitive markets that are free of undue restrictions. The FTC's efforts are directed toward prohibiting actions that threaten consumer's informed choices. Important issues that are covered through the Commission include: fair credit reporting, fair debt collection practices, rules for telemarketing, considerations for fair competition, antitrust issues, franchise and business opportunities, and fair advertising policy statements and guidance.
