  • 83.5% of Canadian industrial payrolls
  • 28% of the total U.S., 70.3% of the total Canadian population; a total of 80.6 million people
  • 29% of U.S. retail sales
  • 69.4% of Canadian retail sales
  • 37% of U.S. manufacturing activity
  • 75% of Canadian manufacturing activity

Foreign Trade Zone

The North Country Alliance region is the site of three Foreign Trade Zones. Advantages to international businesses include deferral of duty charges, unlimited duty-free storage, and avoidance of duty on damaged or wasted goods.
